Personality and Persona

How to Be You for Google

Your personality is the gateway to engagement with future customers. Your persona is the aspect of your character that is presented to or perceived by others.

In ancient Greek drama, actors wore character masks. One actor could play several rôles by switching masks. In addition the audience even in the far-away seats could easily distinguish a character.

Your business personal needs to create a consistent message across all platforms so that, just like an ancient Greek character mask, the business is instantly recognized. Your tone, your delivery, the words you use, and the message you send out about your business need to be consistent.

Your Business Page on Google+ represents your brand persona.

When more than one person delivers content for your brand you need to make sure that the business persona is consistent. So writing content, public speaking, posting on social media the message and tone is consistent.

What about your personality?

Especially on Google+ you have the ability to attract people to you as a person through your Profile. This is the place where you let your personality shine out.

Yes, deliver your content, and share posts relevant to the nature of your business. But, your Profile is the place to share jokes, family pictures, your latest fishing trip, your favourite beer, your dog's antics, or anything else that is pertinent to your life.

Of course, you want to use discretion because even though this is the place to be yourself you still represent your brand. Let folks see enough of you to get a sense of your personality, but make certain that the personality you show is attractive to your potential customers and clients.

Think before you post. However much fun you are having with your post shares, remember they still reflect on your brand.

Balance

Your personality and your business persona work hand in hand to attract customers.

Each time you post on Google+ whether on your Business Page or your personal Profile, take a minute to think how what you share reflects on your business persona.

Your personality is what connects you to others, your persona is the consistent message you have for your business.

How to Embed a Google Drive Sheet

Sometimes things get busy under the green quote button. People ask how to questions. I can usually do a couple of quick screen shots and answer the question.
